All information you give in registration is covered by our Privacy Policy

In registration we ask for all the usual information, e-mail address, Pigs ID and password. We also ask for your address and telephone number. The reason for this is not because we're nosey and want to come and see where you live but for your security and peace of mind when you're buying and selling on the site.

We have had to implement these new security measures mainly to keep out rogue sellers and phantom buyers.

We do not do anything with this information except reveal your Pigs ID and e-mail address to anyone wishing to buy from you, so they can get in touch with you.

We do not give or sell this information to any third party as 'spam' stinks and it is the pain of our lives.

As a security measure you can not register under a different Pigs ID using the same e-mail address.

The new required fields in registration are:

• Your Address
• Your Phone Number

We have done this to make all your transactions on the site more secure and to enable us to administrate the whole 'shebang' more easily.

The 'Shops' now have added features that enable them to up-load 100s of items at a time and this is why we need to know exactly who they are as well as to protect your interests if you purchase from them.

Another new feature designed to add to the security of the site is that anyone who modifies their details will have a   attached to their Pigs ID for 30 days wherever it appears on the site.

As a security measure you can not register under a different Pigs ID using the same e-mail address.

Sorry for the inconvenience but we're implementing this for the benefit of the whole community.

Once you have modified your details a   will be attached to your Pigs ID for 30 days, wherever it appears on the site.

Briefly though, if you select 'I want to open a shop' during registration you will have to complete an extra page of information that will allow us and the 'Buyers' to know a little more about you. This will not only allow us to sleep more peacefully at night but also install confidence in the Buyers when purchasing your products.

Loiks! I've forgotten/lost/misplaced/eaten my Pigs ID or Password.

Because of the interactivity between the User and 26pigs, cookies are used extensively on the site.
When you log onto 26pigs a Cookie is created and placed into C:\WINDOWS\Cookies (for PC users, and for Apple users we're not sure but we'll look it up and get back to you.).

Cookies enable us to open your My 26pigs account, they enable you to add to Your Wants and Your Interests and to add items that you want to purchase into your Basket. They also make sure that the 1000's of e-mails that are generated on the site go to the right person.

If you have two Users working from one machine you might have to delete the user@26pigs.com cookie from the Cookies folder before it will allow the other user to log-on, but this is rare.

If you have trouble Logging On to 26pigs please do the following -

• Close down any browser windows linked to 26pigs
• Open up a new instance of 26pigs in a new browser window
• When Logging On please remember that your PigsID and Password are case dependant

If for any reason you need to log-on as a different User please follow the steps above.
