Film Fun was the "All star comic", with comic strips such as "Sid Field - the Famous Comedian" and "The Great George Formby - the famous laughter maker of the screen".

Film Fun issue 1 would be worth around £400 in near mint condition today.

In 1962 Film Fun joined Buster.

I have just found your site. During the war Film Fun found its way to Australia albeit a couple of months after its publication in the UK. I was only a boy but I grew up on FF and it gave me an insight into English humour which I have appreciated ever since. I lay at the feet of Film Fun my propensity for punning. One Joe E Brown story had sausages as the subject; always good for a laugh. The dialogue balloon read: 'I never 'sausage' a mean trick". The commas around sausage meant it was a joke. It took me years to get it. A couple of years ago, I found a treasure in a second hand book shop viz. the 1942 Film Fun annual. That was the time I was reading the comic. It cost me fifteen Australian dollars but was worth it. All the best. Thanks for your site. - Ken Short - Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
